Tuba Summer is back! On July 30, 2023 on the southeast lawn of
Guzzetta Hall at 7:00 p.m., tuba players from all over northeast Ohio will join forces to create a powerful sound that only tubas can. Open to all members of the community and players of all
abilities, grab your tuba and join us! Those who wish to perform should register in the atrium of Guzzetta Hall from 4:30-5:00 pm (157 University Ave). Rehearsal will run from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
followed by a performance at 7:00 p.m. Music may be borrowed for the event or purchased for $5.00. Please bring a music stand. Chairs will be provided for the performer. In case of inclement weather, the rehearsal and concert will take place inside Guzzetta Hall in the Recital Hall.

TubaSummer made its debut in Akron in 2001 to a crowd of 800 with the support of the DownTown Akron Partnership. Following the form of the infamous TubaChristmas performances held at EJ Thomas Hall for the last 42 years, TubaSummer celebrates its
namesake season with tunes that encapsulate the sound of summer with everything from German Polka to patriotic sing-a-longs. A few years after its conception, The University of Akron
School of Music took over sponsorship of the event and has continued the tradition and legacy ever since! Audience members are encouraged to sing along and enjoy being outside, surrounded by low brass music and the sounds of the city!
