Tales of Locust Grove

Friday, October 21 - 6:00 PM

Each tour takes the visitors on a special path in the cemetery beginning with the museum. Each tour has their own special guide to lead them to the residents waiting for them on the hill. The stories are culled from the famous Green Book that has the firsthand history of the first 100 years, local legends and the memories of the living relatives. Some of the stories are retold from one year to another, some stories are new. The cast members change from year to year as well so there is always something familiar and some new tales to tell. Some of our actors are descendants from the original settlers.

Musicians fill the air with harmonica and guitar music. Even though the tellers are inhabitants of a cemetery, there is nothing scary here. The mood is thoughtful, often playful sometimes melancholy and always respectful of all of the characters that shaped our town, including the township and Reminderville.

All of the proceeds go to preserving the cemetery and maintaining the buildings for the historical society. We welcome additional donations and any amount you can drop in our donation jars will be gratefully accepted. No donation is too small and we like large ones too.

It is all outside so dress for October weather. Sturdy shoes are recommended as the ground can be tricky. We will be there rain or shine. Bring a neighbor and a friend.
