NASA Astronaut Mike Foreman

Learn What it's Like to fly on a NASA space shuttle with someone who's been there -Navy Captain (Retired) Mike Foreman. Captain Foreman was selected as a NASA astronaut is 1998 and flew on two space shuttle missions to the International Space Station (ISS). As a member of the STS-123 mission crew on space shuttle Endeavor in March 2008, he was in space for 16 days and performed 3 spacewalks to help assemble the ISS. His next mission was STS-129 on space shuttle Atlantis in November of 2009 where he spent another 11 days in space and performed 2 more spacewalks. This program is presented in partnership with the Astronomy Club of Akron. Founded in 1949, the Club is celebrating 70 years of sharing the night sky with our neighbors in the Akron-area. The event will take place at the Main Library Auditorium. The Auditorium will open 30 minutes before the program begins.
