Music at Bath Concert Series-Wits Folly

Friday, May 17 - 7:00 PM

Returning to The Bath Church (3980 West Bath Road, Akron; 330-666-3520; physically accessible venue) at 7:00 p.m. in the Historic Chapel on Friday, May 17, Wit’s Folly string ensemble offers “Émigré: French Refugees in the Early United States and the Music They Brought with Them”.  Featuring works by André Grétry, Ignace Pleyel, Michel Yost and others, this program is performed on period instruments and takes its inspiration from historic concerts performed by French émigrés in the 1790s.  Wit’s Folly invites you on a musical journey of this all-but-unknown French chapter of America’s early musical history.  A free-will offering will be taken.  American Sign Language interpretation will be provided by Peter Parsons of the North Coast Interpreting Services.
