St. Joseph Parish School’s ECLC is conveniently located off State Route 8’s exit 5 at the corner of Broad Street and Second Street in Jones Hall on the Saint Joseph Parish School campus.
“St Joseph’s ECLC provides resources not available at other preschools. Although we have a separate wing dedicated to Early Childhood Learning, prekindergarten and kindergarten students have access to all the elementary school resources as well as participate in X-S.T.R.E.A.M. learning,” said Principal Carrie DePasquale. “X-S.T.R.E.A.M. is a cross between the initial core subjects and the arts while at the same time allowing us to emphasize and integrate religion which, as we know, is the foundation of all learning that takes place at St. Joseph. STREAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, Math.”
With a focus on faith, full-day ECLC students have weekly religion classes. They also have weekly classes in music, art, Spanish, and physical education. As well, they have both computer lab and iPad time.
ECLC’s Little Falcons also have access to a Jr. Makerspace where they have hands-on experience with the concepts they learn in class, and an indoor playroom to build gross-motor skills or for those days the weather does not permit outside activities. Before and After Care is also available between the hours of 7-8am and 3:15-6pm.
The Early Childhood Learning Center is part of Saint Joseph Parish School, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, currently serving nearly 200 students. A Catholic elementary school for grades preschool through eighth, St. Joseph Parish School allows children to not only learn and grow in academics but in faith as children of Christ. St. Joseph’s offers several community service projects throughout the year to teach empathy and compassion for others. It's mission is to proclaim the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, and help students apply that message in their daily lives while growing in faith, knowledge, and stewardship.
