Guy Van Duser and Billy Novick have been performing their unique style of classic American jazz for over 40 years. Combining Van Duser's sophisticated, elegant guitar style with Novick's soulful clarinet, they delight audiences all over the country with the passion, warmth and wit of their music. They released ten recordings as a duo, made many guest appearances on "A Prairie Home Companion Show," and were featured in a 30-minute interview on NPR's "All Things Considered." Come celebrate the start of their 45th season of performing together.
Their music is based around Van Duser's innovative finger-style guitar wizardry, and his uncanny ability to play bass lines, chords and melodies all at the same time. With his daring imagination, breathtaking technique, and wonderful musicality, Van Duser has become an inspiration for guitarists all over the world.
Novick's ever-inventive and soulful clarinet playing provides the ideal complement to Van Duser's guitar. With his vast knowledge of the classic jazz era, his dazzling improvising skills, and his entertaining vocals, Novick is able to both add a melodic and dynamic spark to their performances.
