Art of French Music: Urban Troubadour

Sunday, September 27 - 2:00 PM

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) closes out its 2019/2020 World Tour of Music residency and culminating concert with Urban Troubadour, a collective of Northeast Ohio’s finest musicians. The concert takes place on Sunday, September 27 at 2 pm at the Akron Summit County Public Library, 60 South High Street, Akron, OH. Founder and flutist Jane Berkner, recently named Outstanding Artist in Music in the 2019 Akron Arts Alive Awards, will be performing with pianist Eric Charnofsky, as well as Cleveland Orchestra musicians Jody Guinn, harp; Lisa Boyko, viola; and Brian Thornton, cello. The concert will include Claude Debussy’s elegant Trio for Flute, Viola and Harp, as well as his jazzy Sonata for Cello, and music of Phillipe Gaubert and André Jolivet. Take a dive into the culture with French composers and slides of French art. Students from Copley High School will also participate in the concert.

Pre-concert introductory outreach programs will take place at Green, Springfield-Lakemore, Fairlawn-Bath and Nordonia Hills libraries during the week. For details visit https://ormaco.org/outreach-programs/
