8th Annual Derby for Dollars

The 8th annual Derby for Dollars (DFD) will have an exciting new twist at a familiar Akron landmark! Join us on Saturday, May 4 at the beautiful House Three Thirty Cabaret (formerly The Tangier Cabaret) in Akron to drink mint juleps, enter the Best Dressed contest, and cheer for your favorite horse while watching The Kentucky Derby live! Doors open for cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. Kentucky Derby Post Time will be around 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy live music from the Rolando Pizana Band, delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks, the annual bourbon raffle, a robust silent auction and, of course, contests for best Derby attire. 

DFD will take place in the iconic Cabaret, which will bring back memories for many who saw stars perform there as they passed through Akron. If you never attended a show at the legendary Tangier Cabaret, this is your chance to experience a true Akron gem.

House Three Thirty  is a  multi-purpose job-training facility , designed to extend programming for the LeBron James Family Foundation’s students and their families, and offers opportunities and world-class entertainment for the Akron community and beyond.

Derby for Dollars will benefit Catholic Charities Summit County’s Emergency Assistance Services – Rent and Utility Assistance and three Community Hot Meals per week.

Our Master of Ceremonies will be the great Ray Horner, host of the Ray Horner Morning Show on 1590-WAKR in Akron. It will be a wonderfully unique event. Ticket and Sponsor information can be found at www.ccdocle.org/dfd.
