The University of Akron will confer approximately 1,000 undergraduate and graduate degrees at its Summer 2008 Commencement ceremonies at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16.
University President Dr. Luis M. Proenza will deliver commencement addresses at both ceremonies. Two student speakers will represent the Summer Class of 2008. Marc Boylan of Massillon from the College of Business Administration will speak at the morning ceremony. Emily Faulkner of Akron (44302) from the College of Fine and Applied Arts and Honors College will be the afternoon ceremony's student speaker.
