The Akron Symphony Orchestra begins its 59th season with “Opening Night” on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at The University of Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall at 8 PM. Maestro Christopher Wilkins will lead the Orchestra and the Akron Symphony Chorus in a program of music composed to bring healing and comfort, including Benjamin Britten's Sinfonia da Requiem, Mozart's Ave verum corpus, and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5.
