Western Reserve Academy’s Fine & Performing Arts Department will present its Annual Madrigal Feaste on Feb. 17 and Feb. 18 at 6:15 p.m.
The event will feature the Academy Choir in full Renaissance costume, as well as strolling musicians, jugglers, trumpeters, harpsichord players, singers, the royal court and, of course, the court jester!
The evening will begin with a traditional mulled wine and cider reception at 6:15 p.m., followed by a festive procession into the medieval McCuskey Manor, located in the Ellsworth Dining Hall. That is followed by a boar’s head procession and dinner, prepared in a style befitting a royal Renaissance banquet, couple with the entrance of the flaming pudding, entertainment from the jester’s masque, and serenading by members of the performing troupes.
Tickets are $45 per person, and include dinner, wassail toast, wine and entertainment, along with free parking. Please feel free to come dressed in costume or your festive best.
Seating is limited and reservations are required by calling 330.650.9744, Ext. 3, or by visitingwww.wra.net/madrigal-feaste-2012. For more information, please e-mail Judy Israelson atisraelsonj@wra.net.
