Are you interested in pursuing a career in the medical field as a professional medical coder? This entry-level course is specifically designed to give you a solid foundation in medical coding. The fundamentals of medical coding include knowledge of how to use and understand the coding guidelines of the procedure and diagnosis coding books. Diagnosis coding and procedure coding will be covered. In addition to a solid review of the contents of the coding books you will be given hands-on coding exercises to be completed in class and at home. Textbooks approx. $150. You will use the CPT® 2012 Standard Edition and the ICD-9-CM 2012 Professional Edition for Physicians, Volumes 1 and 2.
No class March 13 and 15.
