Description:
|
Learn about Redwork Quilting from Dolly Webb. This type of quilting began during WW1, and was popular during the Depression. Because this hobby was so inexpensive, the quilting was sometimes called penny squares. Historically, women used designs that were published in newspapers, and now, designs can be traced from coloring books or patterns. They got together and socialized during hard times, making quilts, aprons, pillows, tea towels and such. This inexpensive technique uses white or cream muslin, a needle, and red DMC thread, the same color used on soldier’s uniforms. Learn more about this hobby, see some beautiful examples, and have Dolly help you with a starter kit. This program is for adults, and teenagers ages twelve and up. Sign up is required.
