Opening reception for "Fresh & Spooky," Summit Artspace Gallery’s fourth annual juried exhibition offering significant cash awards to local artists. The gallery is filled with works of art that are unearthly, ghostly, mysterious, weird and uncanny. OMNOVA Solutions Foundation sponsored the three top-place prizes of $500, $300 and $200. The exhibition’s guest juror is artist Mark Soppeland, who also hung the selected art in unorthodox ways to enhance the spooky theme. It has the appearance of an exhibition installed by poltergeists. Admission and parking are free. Show runs through November 8. Summit Artspace is a project of the Akron Area Arts Alliance in cooperation with Summit County government.
