Celebrate the opening of two exciting exhibitions. Experience two engrossing talks, peruse amazing artwork and mix and mingle with artists and curators. FREE for members and $10 for non-members.
Glen C. Davies Lecture, 6 pm
Artist and independent curator Glen C. Davies will discuss the exhibition Stranger in Paradise: The Works of Reverend Howard Finster. Davies first visited Paradise Garden in 1983 where he was able to paint side by side with Finster. This experience, as well as meeting with Finster collectors Jim and Beth Arient, allowed Davies to create an exhibition celebrating the artist's visions.
Ray Turner Gallery Talk, 7:30 pm
During the exhibition's opening night Ray Turner will discuss his approach to painting as well as the growing population of sitters that makes this exhibition unique in a special gallery talk.
