The Seventh Annual Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) Invitational Golf Outing will be held Friday, September 17 at the Rosemont Country Club at 3777 Rosemont Boulevard in Fairlawn. The invitational begins at 11 a.m. with registration and includes lunch, a scramble, silent auction and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The cost for golf, course beverages, lunch, dinner and silent auction is $125; golf and lunch only is $100; or the dinner/silent auction only is $50.
Over the past six years, the event has raised over $156,000 for Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service’s (VNS) children’s bereavement camp, called Camp Promise, and the local, national and international outreach programs of WPC. Camp Promise is an annual camp dedicated to counseling children who are suffering from the loss of a loved one. Largely through community donations, counselors are given the opportunity to work with young children to help ease the grieving process. The WPC outreach programs have benefited charities such as Big Brothers and Sisters, Mobile Meals, Good Neighbors Food Center and Disaster Assistance.
